Kindergarten Round Up Thursday, August 15 from 1:30 to 3:00.
Effective Tuesday, May 28, visitors to all district buildings will experience some changes as new security measures are implemented district-wide. All district doors will now be locked during the school day and visitors will have to use the newly installed intercom buttons outside of the main entrance in each building in order to gain access to a building. Once a visitor pushes the call button, office staff will view the camera and direct the visitor to the main office. We anticipate most things will be able to be taken care of right in the main office; however, if the visitor needs to proceed further into the building they will be required to sign in, leave a piece of ID at the front office and display a visitors pass while in the building. In order to ensure the safety and security of students and staff, office staff has been instructed to call 911 if visitors, once let in the building, do not report immediately to the front office.
The goal of this new system is to increase student and staff safety by knowing who is in our buildings at any given time. By implementing this new system just two weeks before the end of the year we will be able to identify and resolve any issues that arise and start the 2013/2014 school year with a highly efficient system in place.
We apologize for any inconvenience visitors may experience as a result of this new system. Please understand that we are implementing this new system to ensure the safety of our students and staff. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Mary Murphy, Facilities Management Director, at 775-2320 (mmurphy@mtpleasant.edzone.net).
